SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gary J. Gabel of Palatine, who passed
4away on April 24, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Gabel was born on August 27, 1957 in Chicago;
6his parents were John and Dorris (nee Fuhr) Gabel; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Gary Gabel graduated from Crystal Lake High School
8in 1975; he subsequently graduated in 1978 from North Park
9College in Chicago with a degree in business; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Gary Gabel worked as a benefits consultant at
11Group Alternatives for 22 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gary Gabel was an active member of the Orchard
13Evangelical Free Church; he was a member of the church's choir
14and often sang solos with one of his two daughters; he was also
15involved with church youth groups and the leadership team; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gary Gabel and his wife shared a passion for
17travel and music; they were also members of the Chicago Master
18Singers; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Gary Gabel was preceded in death by his mother,

1Dorris Gabel; his father-in-law, Walton Hultstrand; and his
2father, John (Patricia) Gabel, II; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Gary Gabel is survived by his wife, Betty (nee
4Hultstrand); 2 daughters, Kristen Gabel and Beth (Jared)
5Miller; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Gabel; a granddaughter,
6Laila Grace Gabel; a sister, Faye (Robert) Kubacha; 2 brothers,
7Glen (Jill) Gabel and Grant (Julie) Gabel; and his
8mother-in-law, Carol Hultstrand; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Gary J. Gabel; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Gary Gabel as an expression of our
15sympathy.
