SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jean M. (nee Ventsias) Schuette of
4Woodstock, who passed away on February 15, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jean Schuette was born in Joliet on August 17,
61950 to Emanuel "Mike" and Annette "Babs" (nee Policandriotes)
7Ventsias; she graduated from Yorkville High School in 1968,
8Eastern Illinois University, and Southern Illinois University,
9where she received a master's degree in Special Education; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jean Schuette retired from Northwood Middle
11School in District 200 after 28 years of service, and 34 total
12years as an educator; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jean Schuette enjoyed spending winters walking
14the beach in Florida and volunteering at her church, Saint
15Sophias Greek Orthodox Church in Elgin and at homeless shelters
16with the Pads Program in Woodstock; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jean Schuette was preceded in death by her
18parents; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jean Schuette is survived by her husband of 39
20years, Edwin L. Schuette; her daughters, Laura (Robert)

1Stanell, Caryn (Nick) Marshall, and Annette (Raj) Clark; her
2son, Michael (Jena) Schuette; her grandchildren, Bobby,
3Rachel, Nick, Tony, Maya, and Jacob; her brother, James (Lori)
4Ventsias; and her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
8Jean M. Schuette, and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Jean Schuette as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
