SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Carl R. Vandenberg of Tinley Park; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Carl Vandenberg served his country as a member of
5the United States Army's Graves Registration Service during the
6Korean War; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Carl Vandenberg was the founder and owner of
8Vandenberg Funeral Homes; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Carl Vandenberg was a member of the Tinley Park
10Lions Club, the Fr. C.C. Boyle Knights of Columbus Council
114698, the St. Francis Hospital Advisory Board, and many
12organizations throughout the south suburbs of Chicago; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Carl Vandenberg enjoyed spending his summers in
14Sister Lakes, Michigan and his winters holding court at the
15Chickee Bar in Naples, Florida; he also enjoyed watching his
16grandchildren's events; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Carl Vandenberg was the beloved husband of the
18late Jean Vandenberg (nee Hickey); the loving father of Carl
19(Deborah), Kirk (Ray Jaskot), Mark (Rhonda), Gary (Bobbie
20Halminiak), and Scot (Patricia); the proud and caring papa of

1Christopher, Anne-Marie, Jacob (Carrie), Joshua, Brianne,
2Trace, Carly, Kayla, and Trevor; and the cherished
3great-grandpa of Oliver; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Carl R. Vandenberg;
7and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Carl Vandenberg as an expression of
10our sympathy.
