SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Julia Louise Yarbrough, who passed away
4on December 28, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Julia Yarbrough was born on September 22, 1953;
6her parents were Rayford Maye and Louise Johnson; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Julia Yarbrough confessed her belief in Christ at
8an early age and joined Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Coatopa,
9Alabama; after leaving Alabama, she met Rayfield Yarbrough Sr.
10in the early 1970s; she later joined a loving fellowship with
11the Gideon Missionary Baptist Church in Waukegan for 43 years,
12where she served and was a faithful and loyal member of the
13Christian Education Ministry, the First Aide Ministry, the
14Youth Ministry, and the Deaconess Board; she and her husband
15later moved to Florence, Alabama, where she served as a mother
16at Ekklesia Ministries; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Julia Yarbrough worked for Abbott Laboratory for
1832 years until her retirement in 2005; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Julia Yarbrough was preceded in death by her
20father; her grandmother, Addie B. Harris; her aunts, Katie Mae
21Moore and Renissa Miller; her uncle, William Miller; her

1grandparents, Johnnie Miller, Sr. and Katie Miller; her
2sister-in-law, Rosie Lee Yarbrough; her nephew, Michael
3Spears; and her sister, Ruthie Maye; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Julia Yarbrough is survived by her husband of 42
5years, Rayfield Yarbrough, Sr.; her son, Rev. Rayfield
6Yarbrough, Jr. (Qiana); her daughters, Porsha Edwards
7(Michael) and Candra Yarbrough (Kendrid); her mother; her
8brothers, Roy Green, James Finch, Mack Miller, Larry Miller,
9Marshall Johnson, Mark Johnson, Rodney Maye, Keenan Maye, and
10Shay Maye; her sisters, Gail Johnson, Judy Johnson, Lisa
11Ramsey, Tasha Stevenson, Egypt Johnson, Regina Maye, Rayeanne
12Cunningham, Ratanya Wiker, and Bonnie Santiago; her
13grandchildren, Jalen Yarbrough, Jordan Yarbrough, Raven
14Edwards, Jeremiah Wheeler-Yarbrough, and Brooklyn Edwards; her
15dearest cousins, Josephine Woods, Min. Carrie Moore, Ruby Mae
16West, William Miller, Rev. Richard Miller, and Louis Sellers;
17her dearest friends, Thelma Williams, Dora King and Cassie
18Gray, Verner Duty, Cecilia Pryor, and Annie White; and her
19adopted children, Carla Baldwin, Keyosha Emerson, Apostle and
20Pastor Fitzgerald and their daughters, Willie (Kendra)
21Rounsaville, Robert (Sharlett) James, Alvin (Seren) Young, and
22Theo Allen; therefore, be it
 
23    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
24ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her

1family and friends, mourn the passing of Julia Louise
2Yarbrough; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Julia Yarbrough as an expression of
