SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James P. Tentes of Waukegan, who passed
4away on October 2, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Tentes was born on February 5, 1925 in
6Waukegan to Peter and Mae (nee Karry) Tentes; he attended
7Waukegan High School and served his country in the United
8States Army; he married Betty Fliftcroft in Waukegan on March
916, 1946; and
 
10    WHEREAS, James Tentes worked with Chicago Pipefitters
11Local 597 and owned Tentes Heating Company and Janis
12Cleanerama; and
 
13    WHEREAS, James Tentes was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran
14Church in Waukegan; he sang and toured with the Sibelius Choir
15of Chicago and with several other choirs; he was a member of
16several local bowling league and enjoyed fishing and hunting at
17his cabin in Watersmeet, Michigan; he liked to travel worldwide
18and was a founding member of the Waukegan Historical Society;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, James Tentes was preceded in death by his parents
21and by his brother, George; and

1    WHEREAS, James Tentes is survived by his wife of 67 years,
2Betty; his brothers, Tony and Charles; his sister, Eliane; his
3children, Phillip (Rosemary), Edward (Judith), and Thomas; his
4grandchildren, Korey, Ryan, Aimee (Steve), Jacqueline (Tim),
5Peter, and Patrick; his great-grandchild, Piper Charlotte; and
6many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9James P. Tentes, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of James Tentes as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
