SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rudolph J. "Rudy" Grom of Kenosha,
4formerly of Waukegan, who passed away on April 13, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom was born on December 1, 1927, in
6Waukegan; his parents were John and Mary Grom; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom spent his early life in Waukegan,
8where he attended Waukegan Township High School; he served in
9the United States Army Air Forces during World War II and was
10stationed on the Island of Guam; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom was employed as an electrician at VR
12Wesson in North Chicago for 19 years until it closed; he
13subsequently worked at St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan
14until his retirement in 1993; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom enjoyed sports and was an avid golfer
16and baseball player; he also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs,
17Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom was the devoted husband of 53 years
19of Nancy; the loving father of Laureen Ann (Saul)
20Grom-McGarity, Mary Margaret (Jeffrey) Grom-Eichner, and

1Sandra Jean (Ronald) Statema; the proud grandfather of Shannon
2Leigh and Kendra Lynn McDonough, Timothy John Grom Murray, and
3Dylan Saul McGarity; the fond brother of the late Mary
4Gregorin; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore,
5be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8his family and friends, the passing of Rudolph J. "Rudy" Grom;
9and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to Rudolph Grom as a symbol of our esteem and
12respect.
