SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rita M. Klaas of Meppen, who passed away
4on March 29, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rita Klaas was born on November 24, 1939, in
6Meppen to George E. and Anna C. (Keim) Friedel; she married
7Alfred L. Klaas on September 24, 1966, in Meppen; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rita Klaas was a homemaker and a retired secretary
9at St. Norbert's Catholic School in Hardin; she also had
10previously worked as a secretary for the law offices of Ralph
11Moses and Ed Fanning in Harden; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Rita Klaas was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic
13Church and Alter Society in Meppen and she was a supporter of
14the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging St. Joseph's
15Quilting Club; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Rita Klaas was preceded in death by her parents;
17her husband; her sister, Ethel Lehr; and her brothers, Paul,
18Aloys, Ed, and Brother Norbert Friedel; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rita Klaas is survived by her daughter, Mary Helen
20(Ted) Schulte; her sons, Greg (Sheryl) Klaas, Kevin (Victoria)

1Klaas, and Brett (Jennifer) Klaas; her grandchildren,
2Elizabeth, Emily, Delani, and Camryn Klaas and Emily Laird; her
3brothers, Charlie (Hazel), Gabe (Linda), George (Agnes), Joe
4(Juanita), and Pat (Sharon) Friedel; her sister, Sister Mary
5Gabriel; and her sisters-in-law, Melba, Cecil, and Audrey
6Friedel and Virgie Tepen; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Rita Klaas and we extend our sincere condolences to her family,
10friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Rita Klaas as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
