SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Caroline Louise Edwards, who passed away
4on March 5, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Caroline Edwards was born on December 11, 1919, in
6Grandview, Washington; her parents were Mildred and Harry Edwin
7Hagerman; she married Harold Russell Edwards on January 29,
81944; and
 
9    WHEREAS, In the summer of 1936, Caroline Edwards and her
10family relocated to Waukegan, where she met her future husband;
11after graduating from Waukegan Township High School in 1938,
12she attended Lake Forest College, where she earned her
13bachelor's degree in May of 1942; after college, she taught
14grade school for 2 years in Waukegan while her fiance served in
15the United States Navy; after her children were born and
16attending school, she re-entered the teaching corps in
17Waukegan, where she serve faithfully for many years; in 2008,
18she sold her house of 57 years and moved to Lake Forest Place;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Caroline Edwards enjoyed spending time with her
21family, taking cruises in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean
22with her husband, playing bridge, and attending book clubs; and

1    WHEREAS, Caroline Edwards was preceded in death by her
2parents; her husband, Harold; and her sisters, Helen Marie
3Hagerman and Jean Kinder; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Caroline Edwards is survived by her sons, Harold
5Jr. (Roberta) and Richard; her grandchildren, Laura (Michael)
6Mendyke, Beth Edwards, Erin (Bill) Kerbox, Bronwyn (Scott)
7Wooley, and Colin (Heather) Edwards; her 5
8great-grandchildren; and her 2 nieces and 4 nephews; therefore,
9be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12her family and friends, the passing of Caroline Louise Edwards;
13and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Caroline Edwards as an expression of
16our sympathy.
