AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1921

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1921 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by
5changing Sections 9-112 and 9-190 and adding Sections 9-119.1
6and 9-202.1 as follows:
 
7    (40 ILCS 5/9-112)  (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 9-112)
8    Sec. 9-112. Salary. "Salary": Annual salary of an employee
9under this Article as follows:
10    (a) Beginning on the effective date and prior to July 1,
111947 $3000 shall be the maximum amount of annual salary of any
12employee to be considered for the purposes of this Article; and
13beginning on July 1, 1947 and prior to July 1, 1953, said
14maximum amount shall be $4800; and beginning on July 1, 1953
15and prior to July 1, 1957 said maximum amount shall be $6,000;
16and beginning on July 1, 1957, if salary shall be based upon

1the actual sum paid and reported to the Fund or wages is
2appropriated, fixed or arranged on an annual basis, the actual
3sum payable during the year if the employee worked the full
4normal working time in his position, at the rate of
5compensation, exclusive of overtime and extra service. ,
6appropriated or fixed as salary or wages for service in the
7position;
8    (b) (Blank). Beginning July 1, 1957, if appropriated, fixed
9or arranged on other than an annual basis, the applicable
10schedules specified in Section 9-221 shall be used for
11conversion of the salary to an annual basis;
12    (c) Where the county provides lodging, board and laundry
13service for an employee without charge and so reports to the
14Fund while the employee is receiving such lodging, board and
15laundry service, his salary shall be considered to be $480 a
16year more for the period from the effective date to August 1,
171959 and thereafter $960 more than the amount payable as salary
18for the year, and the salary of an employee for whom one or
19more daily meals are provided by the county without charge
20therefor and are reported by the county to the Fund while the
21employee is receiving such meals shall be considered to be $120
22a year more for each such daily meal for the period from the
23effective date to August 1, 1959 and thereafter $240 more for
24each such daily meal than the amount payable as his salary for
25the year.
26    (d) For the purposes of ordinary disability, salary shall

1be based upon the rate reported to the Fund at the date of
2disability and adjusted to reflect the actual hours paid during
3the prior year.

5    (40 ILCS 5/9-119.1 new)
6    Sec. 9-119.1. Earned annuity. "Earned annuity": (1) The
7annuity a participant has accrued as provided in Section 9-134,
8disregarding minimum age and service eligibility requirements
9and without any reduction due to age, or (2) the age and
10service annuity as provided in Sections 9-125 through 9-128,
11inclusive.

13    Sec. 9-190. Board powers and duties. The board shall have
14the powers and duties stated in Sections 9-191 to 9-202.1
159-202, inclusive, in addition to such other powers and duties
16provided in this Article.

3    Section 10. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by
4repealing Section 9-221.
