Adds a Section for State Wildlife Areas, State Trails, State Habitat Areas, and State Fish and Wildlife areas. Amends Sections regarding State Wildlife Areas and State Boat Access Areas. Provides that designated areas are under the care, control, supervision, and management of the Department of Natural Resources. Removes the Department's authority to acquire land around the Smithland Reservoir. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Department of Natural Resources
5(Conservation) Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois
6is amended by changing Section 805-510 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 805/805-510)  (was 20 ILCS 805/63a13)
8    Sec. 805-510. Public monuments and memorials. The
9Department has the power to erect, supervise, and maintain all
10public monuments and memorials erected by the State on
11properties under the jurisdiction of the Department of Natural
12Resources, except when the supervision and maintenance of a
13monument or memorial is otherwise provided by law. Under the
14power granted by this Section the Department shall (i) provide
15a site in Rock Cut State Park for the Winnebago County Vietnam
16Veterans' Memorial and (ii) allow the Vietnam Veterans' Honor
17Society to erect the Memorial of an agreed design.
