    Amends the Public Utilities Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the Illinois Commerce Commission's Office of Retail Market Development's annual report regarding the development of competitive retail natural gas markets in Illinois.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by changing
5Section 19-130 as follows:
 
6    (220 ILCS 5/19-130)
7    Sec. 19-130. Commission study and report. The The
8Commission's Office of Retail Market Development shall prepare
9an annual report regarding the development of competitive
10retail natural gas markets in Illinois. The report shall be
11approved by the Commission and be filed by July 1 of each odd
12year with the Joint Committee on Legislative Support Services
13of the General Assembly and the Governor and shall be publicly
14available. The report shall include, at a minimum, the
15following information:
16        (1) an analysis of the status and development of the
17    retail natural gas market in the State of Illinois; and
18        (2) a discussion of any identified barriers to the
19    development of competitive retail natural gas markets in
20    Illinois and proposed solutions to overcome identified
21    barriers; and
22        (3) any other information the Commission considers
23    significant in assessing the development of gas markets in

1    the State of Illinois.
2    To aid in preparation of its annual report, as well in its
3assessment of barriers to the development of competitive retail
4natural gas markets and proposed solutions to overcome those
5barriers, the Commission's Office of Retail Market Development
6shall gather input from all interested parties as well as from
7other bureaus within the Commission.
