HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Charles "Chuck" Anderson
4of Aurora on the occasion of his retirement from Painters
5District Council 30; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Chuck Anderson served as Business Manager and
7Secretary-Treasurer for Painters District Council 30 in Aurora
8from 1993 to September of 2014, earning the respect and
9admiration of the members and officers of his organization, the
10International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT), and
11the citizens of the City of Aurora and surrounding
12municipalities; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Chuck Anderson, as a member of the IUPAT for more
14than 4 decades, has served as a trustee and fiduciary of
15numerous employee benefits funds that strive to increase the
16value and dignity of work for members and their families; he
17also has served as a trustee of the IUPAT Finishing Trades
18Institute, the IUPAT Painters and Allied Trades for Children's
19Hope Foundation (PATCH Foundation), and as a member of the
20IUPAT General President's Advisory Committee; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Chuck Anderson is a well-regarded public servant
22in Illinois's Fox Valley region and the rest of the State; he

1has served as a member of the Aurora Human Relations
2Commission, the Aurora Economic Advisory Committee, the
3Marmion Academy Board of Lay Trustees, the Quad County Urban
4League Board of Directors, and the Illinois Attorney General's
5Labor Advisory Council; he also personally advocated for reform
6of Aurora's procurement processes to increase opportunities
7for women and minority business owners and residents and was a
8constant and vocal supporter of infrastructure investment in
9the city; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Chuck Anderson is known as a leader committed to
11successful and productive labor-management relations, and the
12advancement of one's industry through collaboration,
13conciliation, good faith negotiation, bargaining, and
14sensitivity to shifting economic dynamics; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Upon Chuck Anderson's retirement as Business
16Manager and Secretary Treasurer on Labor Day, September 1,
172014, he leaves to the next generation of leaders one of the
18most progressive, visible, and active unions in the Fox Valley
19region, and a well-regarded labor organization within
20North-Central Illinois; therefore, be it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23we congratulate Charles "Chuck" Anderson on his retirement from

1Painters District Council 30 and wish him the best in all his
2future endeavors; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to Chuck Anderson as an expression of our esteem and
5respect.
