HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives saddened to learn of the death of Dr. John
4"Jack" Henry Boarini of Lake Villa, who passed away on May 27,
52014; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dr. Boarini was born in Chicago on March 8, 1930
7to Dr. Edward Vincent and Edelle (nee Odenbreck) Boarini; he
8married Nancy Grant on August 26, 1950; he graduated from the
9Loyola School of Dentistry in 1955 and entered the United
10States Air Force that same year; he was honorably discharged in
111958; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dr. Boarini moved to Antioch 1968 and bought his
13dental practice in 1972 at Orchard Medical; he built the
14largest professional building in Antioch, The Heritage
15Building, in 1975; his dental office, Heritage Dental, is still
16serving the community; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dr. Boarini was a member of the Lion's Club since
18the early 1970s; he helped initiate the eye wear collection
19boxes for the Lions in Antioch, which donated glasses and
20hearing aids to the needy; he was a Rotary International double
21Paul Harris Fellow and had been an active supporter of St.
22Peter Church and served as a School Board Member for 8 years;

1at his home on Maui, he founded a mobile dental unit for the
2poor and received the Father Damion Award from the State of
3Hawaii; after visiting St. Francis Catholic Mission in South
4Dakota on a hunting trip, he began work on opening a dental
5clinic there for Native Americans; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dr. Boarini was affectionately known by many
7monickers, including "the singing dentist", "the tireless
8volunteer", "the die-hard golfer", and "the never-ending giver
9to the needy"; he had a love for hunting, and, while in the Air
10Force in Wyoming, started the family tradition of annual big
11game hunts out west and was well known as a great hunter into
12his 83rd year; he was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago
13Bears; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dr. Boarini was preceded in death by his parents;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dr. Boarini and his wife were the parents of 8
17children, Dr. David (Michelle), Dr. Mark (Kathy), Kathy (the
18late Ernie) Boggs, Chris Boarini, Paul (Mila), Karen Staten,
19Dr. Daniel J. (fiancée Kathryn), and Matthew (Barbara); 34
20grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we mourn the passing of Dr. John "Jack" Henry Boarini, and
2extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all
3who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to the family of Dr. Boarini as an expression of our
6deepest sympathy.
