HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas N.
4Little of West Frankfort, who passed away on December 8, 2013;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Thomas Little was born on July 25, 1940 in West
7Frankfort to Horace and Thomasine (nee Elwood) Little; he
8graduated from Frankfort Community High School in 1958 and
9attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale; he joined
10the United States Army Reserve in 1962 and served for 6 years;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Thomas Little joined the Illinois State Police in
131965 and served District 9, the Illinois State Police Academy,
14and District 13; he retired in 1993 as a vehicle investigation
15specialist; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Thomas Little enjoyed serving his community; he
17spent 22 years as a Paid On Call Firefighter for the West
18Frankfort Fire Department; he was the Franklin County Deputy
19Coroner for 20 years and a 20-year West Frankfort Lions Club
20member; he also was a 32nd degree Master Mason, and recently
21received his 50-year membership pin; and

1    WHEREAS, Thomas Little was a member of the Fraternal Order
2of Police since 1970 and a member of the First Christian
3Church; he served as the West Frankfort Codes Officer from 1996
4to 1999 and was the Frankfort Community High School hall
5monitor from 1999 to 2002; he was a member of the 911 Board
6from 2002 to 2006 and on the Frankfort Township Board since
72009; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Thomas Little had a love for radios and technology
9and was known by friends in the amateur radio community as
10"WA9BOT"; he also enjoyed dogs, going to Busch Stadium to see
11the St. Louis Cardinals play, and visiting Gulf Shores,
12Alabama; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Thomas Little was preceded in death by his
14parents; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Thomas Little is survived by his wife, Judy
16DeLap-Little; his sons, Justin (Melissa) DeLap and Charley
17Little; his daughters, Jessica (Thomas) Rude and Shelly Dugan;
18his grandchildren, Michael Thomas DeLap, Joshua DeLap, Jade
19Dugan, Ethan Dugan, Evan Kirksey, Kiersten Little, and Hayden
20Little; his brother-in-law, Gene Forgatch; and his nieces and
21nephews, Steve Forgatch, Beth Conner, Todd Forgatch, Amy
22Forgatch-Siefert, and Jay Forgatch; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3we mourn the passing of Thomas N. Little, and extend our
4sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
5and loved him; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Thomas Little as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
