SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
25 ILCS 115/1.10 new
25 ILCS 115/1.11 new
25 ILCS 115/1.12 new

    Amends the General Assembly Compensation Act. Requires every member of the 99th General Assembly to forfeit one day of compensation per month beginning with the second 6 months of Fiscal Year 2015 through the first 6 months of Fiscal Year 2017. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The General Assembly Compensation Act is amended
5by adding Section 1.10, 1.11, and 1.12 as follows:
 
6    (25 ILCS 115/1.10 new)
7    Sec. 1.10. FY15 furlough days. During the second 6 months
8of the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014, every member of the
999th General Assembly is mandatorily required to forfeit one
10day of compensation per month. The State Comptroller shall
11deduct the equivalent of 1/261st of the annual salary of each
12member of the 99th General Assembly from the compensation of
13that member in each of the second 6 months of the fiscal year.
14For purposes of this Section, annual compensation includes
15compensation paid to each member by the State for one year of
16service pursuant to Section 1, except any payments made for
17mileage and allowances for travel and meals. The forfeiture
18required by this Section is not considered a change in salary
19and shall not impact pension or other benefits provided to
20members of the General Assembly.

19member of the 99th General Assembly from the compensation of
20that member in each of the first 6 months of the fiscal year.
21For purposes of this Section, annual compensation includes
