SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
705 ILCS 105/12.5 new

    Amends the Clerks of Courts Act. Provides that with regard to any notification required by law to be made by the circuit clerk to a party, the circuit clerk may reasonably rely upon any notice of the party's change of address received from the United States Postal Service as a true and correct statement of the party's current residential address.

1    AN ACT concerning courts.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Clerks of Courts Act is amended by adding
5Section 12.5 as follows:
 
6    (705 ILCS 105/12.5 new)
7    Sec. 12.5. Party change of address. With regard to any
8notification required by law to be made by the circuit clerk to
9a party, the circuit clerk may reasonably rely upon any notice
10of the party's change of address received from the United
11States Postal Service as a true and correct statement of the
