SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
110 ILCS 1005/4.5 new
110 ILCS 1005/5  from Ch. 144, par. 125

    Amends the Private College Act. Prohibits post-secondary educational institutions from including the following in any data reported to the Board of Higher Education, for marketing or advertising purposes, on its Internet website, or in any of its publications: (1) recent graduate employment lasting fewer than 3 months or on a temporary basis; and (2) employment data from any of its campuses located outside the territorial boundaries of this State. Provides that a certificate of approval of a post-secondary educational institution may be revoked for violation of these provisions.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Private College Act is amended by changing
5Section 5 and by adding Section 4.5 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 1005/4.5 new)
7    Sec. 4.5. Employment data. No post-secondary educational
8institution may include the following in any data reported to
9the Board, for marketing or advertising purposes, on its
10Internet website, or in any of its publications:
11        (1) Recent graduate employment lasting fewer than 3
12    months or on a temporary basis.
13        (2) Employment data from any of its campuses located
14    outside the territorial boundaries of this State.

16    Sec. 5. A certificate of approval of a post-secondary
17educational institution may be revoked for any of the
18following:
19        1. Violation of any of the conditions governing the
20    issuance of the certificate. ;
21        2. Failure to comply with any of the rules adopted by
22    the Board. ;

1        3. Fraudulent conduct on the part of any person
2    conducting the institution or of any person, acting within
3    the scope of his employment, employed by the owners or
4    persons conducting the institution, on account of which
5    conduct any student enrolled in the institution has been
6    injured or has suffered financial loss.
7        4. Failure to comply with Section 4.5 of this Act.
