AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4096

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4096 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Criminal Code of 2012 is amended by
5changing Section 12C-50 as follows:
 
6    (720 ILCS 5/12C-50)
7    Sec. 12C-50. Hazing.
8    (a) A person commits hazing when he or she knowingly
9performs an act, or causes a situation, that recklessly or
10intentionally subjects requires the performance of any act by a
11student or other person in a school, college, university, or
12other educational institution of this State, to the risk of
13bodily harm for the purpose of induction or admission into any
14group, organization, or society associated or connected with
15that institution, if:
16        (1) the act or situation is not sanctioned or

1    authorized by that educational institution; and
2        (2) the act results in bodily harm to any person.
3    (b) Sentence. Hazing is a Class A misdemeanor, except that
4hazing that results in death or great bodily harm is a Class 4
5felony.
