SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 290/1.5 new
25 ILCS 115/1.9 new

    Amends the Salaries Act. Provides that the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Comptroller, and Treasurer shall not be entitled to receive any salary or financial remuneration from the State, including any reimbursement for travel expenses or per diem, until the State has paid in full all vendor accounts that are past due under the State Prompt Payment Act as of the effective date of the amendatory Act. Amends the General Assembly Compensation Act. Provides that members of the General Assembly shall not be entitled to receive any salary or financial remuneration from the State, including any reimbursement for travel expenses or per diem, until the State has paid in full all vendor accounts that are past due under the State Prompt Payment Act as of the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Salaries Act is amended by adding Section
51.5 as follows:
 
6    (5 ILCS 290/1.5 new)
7    Sec. 1.5. Suspension of salary and financial remuneration.
8Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the Governor,
9Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Comptroller, and
10Treasurer shall not be entitled to receive any salary or
11financial remuneration from the State, including any
12reimbursement for travel expenses or per diem, until the State
13has paid in full all vendor accounts that are past due under
14the State Prompt Payment Act as of the effective date of this
15amendatory Act of the 98th General Assembly.
 
16    Section 10. The General Assembly Compensation Act is
17amended by adding Section 1.9 as follows:
