SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John A. "Jack" Ryan, who passed away on
4November 29, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Ryan was born on October 24, 1934, in
6Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his parents were John F. and Bernice
7(Halpin) Ryan; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John Ryan was the owner and operator of Ryan
9Automotive in Geneva for many years; he also served as an
10on-call firefighter and paramedic in Geneva and served his
11community as an alderman; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Ryan was an active member in numerous local
13organizations; he served as president of the Geneva Chamber of
14Commerce; he was a member of the Delnor Foundation Board and a
15past president of the St. Peter School Board; he was a longtime
16member of the Geneva Lions Club and St. John Neumann Catholic
17Church, where he served as an usher and Eucharistic minister;
18he was also a strong supporter of Geneva High School sports as
19a longtime Sports Booster member; and
 
20    WHEREAS, John Ryan enjoyed running, golfing, and hockey;

1    WHEREAS, John Ryan was preceded in death by his first wife,
2Mary Ann; his parents; his daughter, Joanne; his sons, Jimmy
3and Jerry; his brother, Jim Ryan; and his sister, Mary Ellen
4Chiappetti; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Ryan is survived by his wife, Martha (Mutti)
6Ryan; his sons, John, Jeff (Cheryl), and Joe (Sue) Ryan; his
7daughters, Joan (Doug) Froehlich and Julie Ryan; his
8grandchildren, Michael, Nolan, Jessica, and Nichole Ryan and
9McKayla Froehlich; his great grandchildren, Brooke and Ashlyn;
10and his step-daughter, Elizabeth Keith, and her daughter,
11Marissa Pulecio; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14his family and friends, the passing of John A. "Jack" Ryan; and
15be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
17presented to the family of John Ryan as an expression of our
18sympathy.
