SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Illinois State Trooper Kyle
4W. Deatherage of Highland, who passed away on November 26,
52012; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Trooper Deatherage was born on April 11, 1980, in
7Maryville; he graduated from Triad High School in 1998 and
8received his associates degree in criminal justice at Lewis &
9Clark College; he married Sarah A. Gregory; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Trooper Deatherage worked for Trucks Centers in
11Troy, and began his career in law enforcement for the Staunton
12Police Department; he worked for the Madison County Sheriff's
13Office and then became an Illinois State Trooper with District
1418 in May of 2009; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Trooper Deatherage enjoyed fishing, hunting, and
16loved his children very much; he enjoyed time with close
17friends and officers from the departments he worked with; he
18was a member of First Congregational Church in Highland and the
19Fraternal Order of Police 43-Springfield; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Trooper Deatherage was preceded in death by his
21paternal grandfather, Ralph M. Deatherage and his maternal

1grandparents, Casmir and Rose Anna Karpowicz; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Trooper Deatherage is survived by his wife, Sarah
3A. (nee Gregory) Deatherage; his daughter, Kaylee Ann
4Deatherage; his son, Camden Kyle Deatherage; his father, Barry
5W. Deatherage Sr.; his mother, April Kay (nee Karpowicz)
6Deatherage; his brothers, Barry W. Deatherage Jr. and Kenneth
7M. (Ashleigh) Deatherage; his sister, Anna B. Deatherage; his
8paternal grandmother, Brooksie M. (nee South) Deatherage; his
9father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gean B. and Eleanor L. (nee
10Christin) Gregory; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Illinois State Trooper Kyle Deatherage, recognize the
14sacrifice he made protecting the citizens of the State of
15Illinois, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family,
16friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Trooper Deatherage as an expression
19of our deepest sympathy.
