SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gerald R. "Goose" Lounsberry of Hanna
4City, who passed away on October 13, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald Lounsberry was born on April 27, 1939, in
6Havana; his parents were Raymond and Launa (Rafferty)
7Lounsberry; he married Sandra Orwig on October 15, 1966, in
8Brimfield; she preceded him in death in 1987; he then married
9Irene Raffety on September 5, 1987, in Hanna City; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Gerald Lounsberry served his country with pride as
11a member of the United States Army from 1962 to 1966; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gerald Lounsberry was a drill-press operator at
13International Harvester in Canton for 25 years; he subsequently
14transferred to Ohio with Navistar for 5 years before retiring
15in 1989 after 30 years of service; he later worked for the
16Village of Hanna City until his final retirement in 2010; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Gerald Lounsberry was a member of the Hanna City
18Sportsman's Club, the Farmington Moose Lodge, and the
19Bartonville American Legion; he enjoyed watching the Chicago
20Cubs and hot sauce; and

1    WHEREAS, Gerald Lounsberry was preceded in death by his
2first wife; his parents; his stepdaughter, Marty DeVries; and
3his sister, Marilyn Miller; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Gerald Lounsberry is survived by his children,
5Kendra (David) Wing and Kraig (Debbie) Lounsberry; his
6step-children, Ronald (Debbie) Workman and Tena (Dennis)
7McNamara; his 12 grandchildren; his 7 great-grandchildren; his
8brother, Jim (Marilyn) Lounsberry; and his sisters, Mae Haney,
9Sharon (Larry) Davis, and Debbie Inman; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12his family and friends, the passing of Gerald R. "Goose"
13Lounsberry; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Gerald Lounsberry as an expression
16of our sympathy.
