SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Richard R. "Dick" Bell of
4Wood River, who passed away on November 16, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Bell was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on
6November 23, 1926, to Marion Russell and Marguerite C.
7(Schmidt) Bell; he married Patricia A. Worcester in 1948; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Richard Bell served his country in the Navy; he
9graduated from the University of Illinois and became a partner
10in Worcester and Bell Construction Company; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Bell belonged to the Wood River Rotary
12Club, where he was recognized as a "Paul Harris Fellow" and
13maintained perfect attendance for more than 40 years; he served
14the St. Louis Regional Airport as Commissioner; he was a member
15of the St. Louis Zoo, the Boy Scouts of America since 1987, the
16Wood River Library Board, the Wood River Chamber of Commerce;
17he served as a Wood River Heritage Council Contributor to the
18Historic Chapel, the Wood River Police and Fire Commissioner,
19and as a member of the boards of the First National Bank of
20Wood River, Magna Bank, and Regions Bank; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Richard Bell was preceded in death by his wife,

1Patricia; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Richard Bell is survived by his sister, Marjorie
3J. Bell Grufman; his brother, William F. Bell; his son, Paul
4Michael (Lisa) Bell; his daughter, Mary Bell; his
5grandchildren, Melissa Bell (Timothy Yates), Heather (Brock)
6Hendricks, and Corey (Melissa) Bell; his great-grandchildren,
7Dalton Pryor, Jaxon, Carter and Brody Hendricks, Jayden, Kamryn
8and Lawson Bell; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
9nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Richard Bell, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Richard Bell as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
