SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lombard Village President William J.
4"Bill" Mueller, who passed away on August 18, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Mueller was raised in Lombard by his
6parents, Joseph and Dolorosa Mueller; and
 
7    WHEREAS, William Mueller opened the Bill Mueller Insurance
8Agency on Westmore Avenue shortly after returning to Lombard in
91965; he retired from American Family Insurance in 2005; and
 
10    WHEREAS, William Mueller served as President of the Village
11of Lombard since 1993 and began his 5th consecutive term in May
12of 2009; he was the longest serving village president in
13Lombard's history; and
 
14    WHEREAS, William Mueller served on the Lombard Safety
15Committee, the Lombard Youth Commission, and the Lombard
16Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he served as president
17for 2 years; he also served as a village trustee and chairman
18of the Public Works Committee and was a member and chairman of
19the Wage Community Development Commission; and
 
20    WHEREAS, William Mueller was a member of the Lombard Plan

1Commission, co-chair of the Glenbard Wastewater Authority,
2chairman of DuComm, vice chairman of the DuPage Water
3Commission, a member of the DuPage Convention and Visitors
4Bureau, a member and president of the DuPage Mayors and
5Managers Conference, and a member of the board of governors for
6Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare; and
 
7    WHEREAS, William Mueller had been a chairman and was
8involved in Cub leader training for Kitigan District, the
9DuPage Area Council, and the Boy Scouts of America; he served
10as an adult adviser for Junior Achievement; he was chairman of
11the Benefit Dance for Central DuPage Hospital; he served as a
12Republican committeeman for Precinct #96; he was president of
13the Eastgate Merchants Association; he was a member of Citizens
14for Parks and "Project 26" with the Lombard Park District; he
15was a member of the Lombard YMCA Century Club and its board of
16directors; he was also a member of the Memorial Hospital
17Century Club, the Good Samaritan Hospital Club, the 100 Club of
18DuPage County, and the Newman Century Club; and
 
19    WHEREAS, William Mueller served his country with pride as a
20member of the Illinois Air National Guard; and
 
21    WHEREAS, William Mueller was preceded in death by his
22nephew, Joe Harrington; and

1    WHEREAS, William Mueller is survived by his beloved wife,
2Eileen; his daughters, Debbie (Keith) Rapata and Donna (Mark)
3Fruehe; his grandchildren, K.J., Stephen, Mikey, and Ashley;
4his brother, Thomas M. (June); his nieces and nephews, Mike
5(Jenny) Mueller, Jim Mueller, Chris Williams, Cheryl (Jim)
6Maynard, Don Wesolowicz, Sandy Wesolowicz, and Mike, Mary,
7Kelly, and Ann Harrington; his sisters-in-law, Carol (Don)
8Wesolowicz, Lucille Rogers, and Mary Harrington; his
9brother-in-law, Francis (Rose) Rogers; his special cousin, Ann
10Ahern; and his many other relatives and friends; therefore, be
11it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14his family and friends, the passing of William J. "Bill"
15Mueller; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of William Mueller as an expression of
18our sympathy.
