SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kim Presbrey of Aurora, who passed away
4on May 26, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey graduated from West Aurora High
6School in 1969, Northwestern University in 1973, and Vanderbilt
7Law School in 1976; after graduation, he practiced law with his
8father at Presbrey and Presbrey and became principal owner of
9the firm after his father's retirement; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was the managing partner of Presbrey &
11 Associates and practiced workers compensation law since 1977;
12he also served as president of Illinois Futures Inc., a
13scholarship program for children of disabled workers, for 10
14years and was a founding member of a medical malpractice
15insurance company that he started in December of 2006; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was a past president of the Illinois
17Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the Board of
18Governors of the Illinois State Bar Association; he was also a
19member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Illinois
20State Bar Association and the Larson's National Workers'
21Compensation Advisory Board, Vice President of the Workplace
22Injury Litigation Group, and a past secretary and section

1member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America Workers'
2Compensation Section; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was the co-author of the LexisNexis
4Illinois Workers' Compensation Guidebook; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey believed in supporting the community
6he was born and raised in, and sponsored many youth football
7and baseball teams; he also worked with the Illinois
8Conservation Foundation for many years; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey enjoyed nature, watching the Chicago
10Cubs, flying, and walking fields with his best friend and
11hunting dog, Hershey; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey is survived by his wife, Colleen; his
13sons, Kenton and Kevin; and his brother, Tom Presbrey;
14therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
17her family and friends, the passing of Kim Presbrey; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Kim Presbrey as an expression of our
