SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Milton C. "Milt" Jensen, mayor of Beach
4Park, who passed away on March 31, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born in Waupaca, Wisconsin; he flew his
6first airplane, a Piper Cub, when he was 16 years old; and
 
7    WHEREAS, He was a 37-year veteran of United Airlines and
8was active in the Retired United Pilots' Association, the Zion
9Benton American Legion Post #865, and the Zion Benton Loyal
10Order of the Moose; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He served as mayor of Zion in the 1970s and was in
12his fourth term as the mayor of Beach Park; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Along with flying and his public service, he had
14numerous hobbies, most of which were related to computers; the
15majority of his focus was on his large and devoted family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Milton Jensen was married to the love of his life,
17Ina (nee Lyons), for almost 61 years; he is also survived by
18his children, Don (Sue), Glenn (Cynthia), Rich (Cindy), Phil
19(Sandy), Julie Gonka (Dennis), Liane Leicht (Frankie Kaiser),
20and Connie Gill (Paul); his 20 grandchildren; and his 12

1great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
4his family, friends, and the people of Beach Park, the passing
5of Mayor Milton Jensen; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Milton Jensen as a symbol of our
8sincere sympathy.
