SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Allen Thomas "Sam" Wiggins of Park City,
4who passed away on January 20, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born February 16, 1926 in Elgin, and
6married Bernice Szczepanek on September 2, 1950 at Holy Rosary
7Church in North Chicago; he was a member of Queen of Peace
8Church and the Fleet Reserve; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean
10War and retired from the United States Navy in December, 1964
11after 23 years of service as a Chief Commissary Officer; and
 
12    WHEREAS, He was an avid golfer and had a hole-in-one on the
1311th green at Foss Park; and
 
14    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his 3
15sisters; his 2 brothers; and his son-in-law, Ronald; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Allen Wiggins is survived by his wife, Bernice;
17his children, Richard (Kim) Wiggins, Rosemarie (Richard)
18Jennings, Racheal Wiggins-Kolb, and Roxann (Manuel) Casillas;
19his 6 grandchildren; his 4 great-grandchildren; his 3 brothers;
20and his 2 sisters; he was also everyone's favorite uncle;

1therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
4his family and friends, the passing of Allen Wiggins; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Allen Wiggins as a symbol of our
8sincere sympathy.
