SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy Glee Crossett, who passed away on
4November 4, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dorothy Crossett was born on July 14, 1913, in
6McIntire, Iowa; her parents were John and Dora Gabby; she was a
7longtime former resident of Hinsdale and later lived in
8Lombard, at the Beacon Hill Retirement Home; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dorothy Crossett was valedictorian of her
10graduating class at Osage High School in Iowa; she then
11graduated with honors from The University of Minnesota's
12Carlson School of Business; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dorothy Crossett was employed as The First
14National Bank of Hinsdale (later Harris Bank Hinsdale) for 37
15years; she retired as the bank's Executive Vice President in
161989; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dorothy Crossett was a member of The Union Church
18of Hinsdale and was an active participant with the Hinsdale
19Woman's Club and the Women's Business and Professional
20Organization; she also participated actively on many
21committees and projects while living at Beacon Hill; and

1    WHEREAS, Dorothy Crossett was preceded in death by her
2husband, James Crossett; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Dorothy Crossett is survived by her daughter,
4Carole Crossett Pyle-Weaver (Frank); her granddaughter, Julie
5Pyle (Jeff) Ryan; her grandson, Randy (Elizabeth) Pyle; and her
6grandchildren, Corey, Connor, Cullen, and Caitlin Ryan and
7Andrew, Mary Katharine, Luke, and James Pyle; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Glee Crossett;
11and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dorothy Crossett as an expression of
14our sympathy.
