SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Velma Hutte of Alton, who passed away on
4December 1, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was born on September 6, 1919, in
6Roxana; her parents were William and Minnie (Hamilton) Crews;
7at the age of 16, she married Rudolph Sowders Sr.; she later
8married Earl Hutte on June 21, 1961, in East St. Louis; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was employed as an inspector for the
10United States government at the Olin Corporation for 40 years
11until her retirement; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was a member of the United
13Presbyterian Church of Wood River; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Velma Hutte enjoyed traveling, flowers, and
15spending time with her grandchildren and her other family and
16friends; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Velma Hutte was preceded in death by her husband,
18Earl Hutte; her parents; her son, Rudolph C. Sowders Jr.; and
19her sister, Ruth Dreisbach; and

1    WHEREAS, Velma Hutte is survived by her daughter-in-law;
2Betty Sowders; her grandchildren, Rudolph Sowders III and his
3spouse, Susan, John Sowders and his spouse, Lee Ellen, Lisa
4Dublo and her spouse, Jeffrey Sr., Donna Droste, Jerry Sowders
5and his spouse, Donna, and Mark Sowders; her grandchildren,
6David Sowders, Angela Sowders, Matthew Sowders and his spouse,
7Victoria, Steven Sowders and his spouse, Michele, Logan
8Sowders, Kathy Sowders, Melissa and her spouse, Chris Dublo
9Winsel, Jeffrey Dublo Jr. and his spouse, Amanda, Michael
10Dublo, Joshua Droste and his spouse, Lindsey, Bethany Droste,
11Cole Sowders, and Natalie Sowders; her
12great-great-grandchildren, Jenna Dublo, Grant Dublo, and Jacob
13Winsel; her sisters, Maxine Burns and Norma Dean and her
14spouse, Floyd; her brother, Bill Crews and his spouse, Shirley;
15and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
18her family and friends, the passing of Velma Hutte; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Velma Hutte as an expression of our
22sympathy.
