SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Stewart F. Johnsen, Sr. of North Aurora,
4who passed away on September 29, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born March 18, 1936 in Aurora; he was a
6member of St. Rita of Cascia Church; he was a third degree
7member of the Knights of Columbus; he was a graduate of Holy
8Angels Grade School, Marmion Academy, Loyola University, and
9Northern Illinois University, where he earned his masters
10degree in Anthropology in 2011; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He served his country in the United States Marine
12Reserves and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was a State Farm Insurance Agent in Lisle for
1446 years; he was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America;
15he served as a Docent at Fabyan Villa Museum in Geneva; he was
16an avid golfer, loved canoeing, and participated in the Mid
17America Canoe Race; he was a Coach for the Aurora Flyers Hockey
18team and officiated for the Aurora Hockey Association; and
 
19    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester
20and Lillian (Byrne) Johnsen; and his daughter-in-law, Stacy
21Johnsen; and

1    WHEREAS, Stewart Johnsen, Sr. is survived by his wife,
2Patricia (Stare) Johnsen; his children, Kathleen (Richard)
3Kleinfieldt, Stewart Johnsen, Jr., Patrick Johnsen, Michael
4Johnsen, Timothy Johnsen, Matthew (Carolyn) Johnsen, and Anne
5Marie (Tioga) Johnston-Johnsen; his grandchildren, Jessica,
6Joseph, Jacob, Isabella, Michael, Madeline, Vivian, and Miles;
7his brother, David (Judy) Johnsen; and several nieces and
8nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11his family and friends, the passing of Stewart Johnsen, Sr.;
12and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Stewart Johnsen, Sr. as a symbol of
15our sincere sympathy.
