SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of David E. Partney of Granite City, who
4passed away on July 18, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on January 22, 1944 in Granite City to
6Donald and Dorothy (Yankee) Partney; he was a salesman and an
7estimator for Accurate Mechanical Contractors Inc. in Maryland
8Heights, Missouri; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He served as a 2nd Ward Alderman, a school board
10member, the school board president, a member of the Granite
11City Eagles Lodge, president of the Granite City Jaycees, and
12was an active member of various trade associations throughout
13his career; he was the owner and operator of the former Granite
14Sheet Metal Works Inc. for 40 years with his brothers; and
 
15    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and his
16brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Pamela Partney; and
 
17    WHEREAS, David Partney is survived by his wife, Janet
18(Morris) Partney, whom he married on September 16, 1967 at
19Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granite City; his sons, David
20(Stacy) Partney and Douglas (Lora) Partney; his daughter,
21Denise Partney; his brother, Donald (Rose) Partney; his

1grandchildren, Briar, Andrew, Dillon, and Ella; his faithful
2companions, Harley, Mickey, and Meili; and his many nephews,
3nieces, and extended family and friends; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6his family and friends, the passing of David Partney; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of David Partney as a symbol of our
10sincere sympathy.
