SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Margaret "Maggie" Schwegel of Alton, who
4passed away on May 10, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on December 1, 1938, in Winchester,
6the daughter of Floyd and Rowena (Freezen) Stice; she married
7Peter "Jabo" Schwegel on February 4, 1961, at St. Mary's
8Catholic Church in Alton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, She was co-owner and operator of the State Street
10Tomboy Market for over 20 years and a member of St. Mary's
11Catholic Church in Alton; she was an avid bingo player, and
12enjoyed playing games and socializing on the computer; her true
13joy was spending time with her family; and
 
14    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her
15parents; her sisters, Dorothy Moore and Ruby Schaberg; and her
16brothers, Bob Stice, Wayne Stice, and Joe Stice; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Margaret Schwegel is survived by her sons, Pete
18Schwegel and his wife, Tammy, and Mark Schwegel and Sabrina
19Colonna; her daughter, Sandy Schwegel and Randy Schmidt; her
20grandchildren, Lauren and Logan Schwegel; her sisters, Mary
21Jane and her spouse, Jim Mihalich and Freida and her spouse,

1Edwin Eyster; and her brothers, Dick and his spouse, Judy Stice
2and Jack Stice; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5her family and friends, the passing of Margaret "Maggie"
6Schwegel; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Margaret "Maggie" Schwegel as a
9symbol of our sincere sympathy.
