SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William "Bill" Janes III of East Alton,
4who passed away on April 15, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on September 22, 1953, in Alton, and
6was the son of Lorene McKean Janes of East Alton and the late
7William E. Janes Jr; he married the former Melodie Thomas on
8April 21, 1979, in Bethalto; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He was instrumental in the development of the
10Madison County 911 system and was employed by Madison County
11911 since 1999; he was a member of the Lewis and Clark Amateur
12Radio Club; he was a longtime volunteer for the Boy Scouts of
13America; he volunteered at many local police and fire
14departments; and he was a member of the Emergency Management
15Mobile Command Unit; and
 
16    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, William E.
17Janes Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Pearl and Willard McKean;
18and his paternal grandparents, Esther and William Janes Sr.;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, William Janes III is survived by his wife,
21Melodie; his sons and daughters-in-law, William E. and Michelle

1Janes and David and Amanda Janes; he was PawPaw to his one
2granddaughter, Josie Janes; he is also survived by his brother
3and sister-in-law, Mark and Kathy Janes; and several nieces and
4nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7his family and friends, the passing of William Janes III; and
8be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of William Janes III as a symbol of our
11sincere sympathy.
