SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy S. Hardbeck of Godfrey, who
4passed away on April 26, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on November 30, 1927, in rural Alton,
6the daughter of Edward Sr. and Sarah Voumard; she received her
7undergraduate degree from Shurtleff College and her master's
8degree in education from Washington University; and
 
9    WHEREAS, She taught all eight grades in a one-room country
10school and later taught third grade in Fosterburg; she was a
11member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Edwardsville;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, On August 1, 1954, she married Donald Hardbeck at
14the Salem Presbyterian Church in Alton; and
 
15    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward
16and Roy Voumard; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dorothy Hardback is survived by her husband, Dr.
18Donald Hardbeck; her daughters, Donna Hardbeck, Beth Bradley
19and husband, Sean, Janet Hardbeck, and Karen Arensmann and her
20husband, Frank; her grandchildren, Phillip Goodrich, Glen

1Bradley and Siobhan Bradley, and Amelia Arensmann; and her
2sisters, Helen Moore and Violet Borchelt; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Hardbeck; and be
6it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Dorothy Hardbeck as a symbol of our
9sincere sympathy.
