SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ruth E. Cotter of Alton, who passed away
4on April 26, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born July 28, 1918, in Dubuque, Iowa, the
6daughter of Arthur L. and Effie M. (Smith) Mutschler; and
 
7    WHEREAS, She worked for Savannah Illinois Ordinance Depot
8and Beverly Farm in Godfrey; she was a member of SS Peter and
9Paul Catholic Church in Alton where she was a member of the
10Altar Society; she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella
11and volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels for 10 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, On July 3, 1943, in Dubuque, Iowa, she married
13Henry L. Cotter; and
 
14    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her
15brothers, James Arthur Mutschler and Frederick Mutschler; and
16her sister, Alice Louis; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ruth Cotter is survived by her daughters, Susan
18Cotter and Elizabeth Cotter Keister; her son, Arthur L. Cotter
19and his wife, Pam; her grandchildren, Todd Link and his wife,
20Ali, Scott Link, Molly and Katie Keister, Angie Pekarik and her

1husband, Shaun, Adam Cotter and his wife, Sarah, and Kevin
2Cotter; and her great-grandchildren, Tucker, Griffin, Delaney,
3Teagan, Trent, Tristan, Kaleigh, and Alexis; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6her family and friends, the passing of Ruth Cotter; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Ruth Cotter as a symbol of our
10sincere sympathy.
