SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Everett Barlow of Burr Ridge, formerly of
4Clarendon Hills, who passed away on March 5, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born October 7, 1915, in Rock Island, to
6William J. and Edna (Nelson) Barlow; he married Verle Clapper
7December 29, 1936, in Rock Island; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He was a United States Army veteran of World War
9II and a member of the American Legion and Shrine; Mr. Barlow
10worked for Bituminous Insurance Company of Rock Island for 46
11years, the last 25 years as resident vice president of the
12Chicago office; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was president of the Union League Club of
14Chicago from 1984 to 1985 and was club archivist; he also was
15heavily involved with the club's Boys and Girls Clubs; he was
16chairman of the Commissioning Committee for the USS Chicago
17submarine and past president of the Metropolitan Chicago Air
18Force Community Council; and
 
19    WHEREAS, He and his wife lived in Clarendon Hills more than
2040 years and were active in the Community Presbyterian Church
21there; he was an avid photographer and had won many awards; and

1    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife;
2and his sisters, Marion Popp and Bernice Barlow; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Everett Barlow is survived by his niece, Bonnie
4Marty; and his nephew, Gary Popp; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7his family and friends, the passing of Everett Barlow; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Everett Barlow as a symbol of our
11sincere sympathy.
