SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jerry D. Vick of Johnston City, who
4passed away on February 4, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born June 23, 1943, in Johnston City; and
 
6    WHEREAS, He worked for the Illinois Department of Human
7Services as a quality control reviewer for 41 years; he was a
8graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, with a
9Bachelor's degree in sociology; and
 
10    WHEREAS, He was a proud father and grandfather, who
11especially enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family;
12he was a veteran of the United States Army; and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Howard
14Buster Vick; and his mother, Erma Dale (nee Dean) Ramsey; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jerry Vick is survived by his wife of 37 years,
16Betty (nee Cockrum) Vick, whom he married December 7, 1973; his
17children, Julie Webb Davis and her husband, Andrew and Jeremy
18D. Vick and his wife, Nicky; his grandchildren, Darrian
19Freeman, Nicholas Freeman, Lauren Freeman, and Allison Vick;
20his step-grandchildren, Natalie Eckrich and Oliver Davis; his

1brothers, Philip (Sharon) Vick and Bennie Vick; and his
2sister-in-law, Rickie Vick; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5his family and friends, the passing of Jerry Vick; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Jerry Vick as a symbol of our
9sincere sympathy.
