SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
430 ILCS 65/7  from Ch. 38, par. 83-7

    Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. Provides that the expiration date of a renewed Firearm Owner's Identification Card shall be 10 years from the date of expiration of the previously issued Card regardless of the date that the renewed Card was processed by the Department of State Police.

1    AN ACT concerning firearms.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Firearm Owners Identification Card Act is
5amended by changing Section 7 as follows:
 
6    (430 ILCS 65/7)  (from Ch. 38, par. 83-7)
7    Sec. 7. Except as provided in Section 8 of this Act, a
8Firearm Owner's Identification Card issued under the
9provisions of this Act shall be valid for the person to whom it
10is issued for a period of 10 years from the date of issuance.
11The expiration date of a renewed Firearm Owner's Identification
12Card shall be 10 years from the date of expiration of the
13previously issued Card regardless of the date that the renewed
14Card was processed by the Department of State Police.
