    Amends the Illinois Geographic Information Council Act. Makes a technical change in a provision concerning the Illinois Geographic Information Council.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Geographic Information Council Act
5is amended by changing Section 5-5 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 1128/5-5)
7    Sec. 5-5. Council. The Illinois Geographic Information
8Council, hereinafter called the the "Council", is created
9within the Department of Natural Resources.
10    The Council shall consist of 17 voting members, as follows:
11the Illinois Secretary of State, the Illinois Secretary of
12Transportation, the Directors of the Illinois Departments of
13Agriculture, Central Management Services, Commerce and
14Economic Opportunity, Nuclear Safety, Public Health, Natural
15Resources, and Revenue, the Directors of the Illinois Emergency
16Management Agency and the Illinois Environmental Protection
17Agency, the President of the University of Illinois, the
18Chairman of the Illinois Commerce Commission, plus 4 members of
19the General Assembly, one each appointed by the Speaker and
20Minority Leader of the House and the President and Minority
21Leader of the Senate. An ex officio voting member may designate
22another person to carry out his or her duties on the Council.
23    In addition to the above members, the Governor may appoint

1up to 10 additional voting members, representing local,
2regional, and federal agencies, professional organizations,
3academic institutions, public utilities, and the private
4sector.
5    Members appointed by the Governor shall serve at the
6pleasure of the Governor.
