AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 770

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 770 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5changing Section 4-1.6b as follows:
 
6    (305 ILCS 5/4-1.6b)
7    Sec. 4-1.6b. Date for providing aid; employability
8assessment.
9    (a) The Department shall provide financial aid no more than
1045 30 days after the date of application.
11    (b) During the first 45 30 days after the date of
12application, the applicant shall undergo a thorough
13employability assessment, in accordance with subsection (d) of
14Section 9A-8 of this Code, and shall prepare a personal plan
15for achieving employment and self-sufficiency in accordance
16with Section 4-1 of this Code. The requirement to engage in

1work-related activity may commence 30 days after the date of
2application.
3    (c) Financial aid under this Article shall be authorized
4effective 30 days after on the date of application, provided
5that the applicant is eligible on that date.
