HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Maureen Bell on the
4occasion of winning the 2012 Joseph G. Salerno Business Person
5of the Year award from the Roselle Chamber of Commerce and
6Industry; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Joseph G. Salerno Business Person of the Year
8award is bestowed by the Roselle Chamber of Commerce and
9Industry to honor a businessperson's professional successes
10and leadership in the community; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Maureen Bell began her career at Roselle State
12Bank & Trust Co. in 1977 as a teller; after the bank was
13purchased by Harris Bank in 1982, she was named as the first
14female president of the Harris Organization in 1992; as
15president, she is responsible for the Roselle market, which
16includes 13 communities; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Maureen Bell is a member of the Roselle Chamber of
18Commerce and Industry and the Roselle Lions Club; she has been
19a key member of the Roselle Taste Commission for 25 years and
20has served on the TIF Commission for 20 years; she was a
21founding member of the AIMS group, where she served as a
22trustee and mentor; she has volunteered her time with the Park

1District, making sure the annual Bounce Back to School event
2was a success; she also served as a trustee for the Schaumburg
3Elementary School Foundation for 20 years and became a trustee
4for the Village of Streamwood Economics Commission in 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Maureen Bell serves as a model of hard work,
6integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
7Illinois; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we congratulate Maureen Bell on the occasion of winning the
112012 Joseph G. Salerno Business Person of the Year award from
12the Roselle Chamber of Commerce and Industry and wish her
13continued success and happiness in the future; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to Maureen Bell as a symbol of our esteem and
17respect.
