HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Robert Heer of
4Wheeling on the occasion of his retirement after 33 years of
5dedicated service with the Buffalo Grove Police Department; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Robert Heer attended Palatine High School; he
7enlisted as a community service officer in Buffalo Grove before
8he graduated from high school; he later spent a year working
9for the Gurnee Police Department until a position opened up in
10Buffalo Grove; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Heer began his career with the Buffalo
12Grove Police Department in the patrol division, but quickly
13progressed into more fulfilling units where he felt he could
14make a difference in people's lives; he subsequently served in
15the crime prevention unit, which establishes community
16relations in meeting the public and spreading the police
17department's message, before serving 2 terms as an officer
18liaison at Buffalo Grove High School from 1996 to 1998 and from
192006 to 2011; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Robert Heer received the Buffalo Grove Police
21Department's "Officer of the Year" award in 1999 in recognition
22of his service to the community; he has also received numerous

1unit citations, honorable mentions, and letters of
2appreciation from his community; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Robert Heer has served as an elected official on
4the Wheeling Village Board since 1995; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Heer and his loving wife of 30 years,
6Cathy, have 3 children; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Heer serves as a model of hard work,
8integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
9Illinois; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we congratulate Robert Heer on the occasion of his retirement
13and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to Robert Heer as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
