HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate George Camille on
4his retirement from Norfolk Southern Corporation; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born January 6, 1950 in Riverton; he has
6been married to Patti Camille for 35 years and is the proud
7father of Jennifer Camille Lee and Elizabeth Camille Christen;
8he also has 2 grandchildren, Zachary and Isabella; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University
10in Carbondale; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He was on the Illinois House of Representatives
12Democrat Staff from 1972 to 1973; he served as the Director of
13Local Government Research for the Taxpayers Federation of
14Illinois from 1973 to 1976; from 1977 to 1986, he was the
15Associate Director of the Illinois Railroad Association; he was
16the Resident Vice President/Public Affairs of the Norfolk
17Southern Corporation from 1986 to 2007; and the Assistant Vice
18President/Public Affairs of the Norfolk Southern Corporation
19from 2008 until his retirement; and
 
20    WHEREAS, He is a member of Laurel United Methodist Church
21in Springfield; he is an active member of the Southern Illinois

1University Alumni Association, Abe Lincoln Gun Club, the Rocky
2Mountain Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, the Pike Adams
3Sportsmen's Alliance, and the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen's
4Caucus; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He is a lifelong outdoorsman and a voice for
6sportsmen throughout Illinois; he is a superior shot in
7sporting clay, trap, and skeet events; he was very active in
8the siting and construction of the World Shooting Complex in
9Sparta and led the fundraising drive for the sports facility at
10Springfield Southeast High School; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He will retire on February 29, 2012; therefore, be
12it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
15we congratulate George Camille on his retirement and wish him
16the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to George Camille as a symbol of our respect and
19esteem.
