HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate George Muentnich
4on his retirement as Troy Township Clerk; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He started his township career in 1981 and has
6served as an elected official for the township for three
7decades, working with numerous township staff members and
8elected officials over the years to bring better services to
9the residents of Troy Township; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After 13 years serving as trustee, he was elected
11as township clerk; during his tenure, he was an active member
12of the Township Officials of Illinois and the Illinois Clerk's
13Association; in 2009, he was the proud recipient of the William
14Z. Ahrends Township Clerk of the Year Award, selected as the
15best clerk throughout the entire State, and it was presented to
16him by the Township Officials of Illinois; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Beyond his service to Troy Township, he is very
18active in his community, including serving as the former
19assistant fire chief of the Troy Fire Protection District;
20serving with the EOC Emergency Operating Center Village of
21Shorewood; and serving with the Illinois Fire Chiefs
22Association; he is a current member of the village of Shorewood

1Fire and Police Commission; a current member of the Will County
2Emergency Planning Committee; a member of the Loyal Order of
3the Moose #300; a past president of the Troy Volunteer Fire
4Fighters; retired from the Troy Volunteer Fire Department (36
5years of service); a past recipient of Fireman of the Year
6award; and a current trustee on the Troy Fire Protection
7District Board; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He will also retire from his full-time position as
9Director of Buildings and Grounds for Joliet Township High
10School District 204; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we congratulate George Muentnich on his retirement and wish him
14the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to George Muentnich as a symbol of our respect and
17esteem.
