HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Darius
4Anthony Brown, who passed away on August 3, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Darius Brown was born on February 27, 1998, in
6Chicago; he was the son of David Smith and Stephanie Brown; he
7was affectionately known as "Bay Bay"; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Darius Brown attended the Holy Angel Catholic
9School and Church; he was to begin the eighth grade in August
10of 2011; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Darius Brown was well known by his family and
12friends for his many gifts and talents, including his great
13basketball skills; he played basketball with the Holy Angels
14Basketball team, AAU Basketball, the Small Fry League, the Boys
15and Girls Club, Nothing But Net, the Illinois Rockets, and the
16Robert Taylor Panthers, among many others; he dreamed of
17playing on a professional basketball team and loved the Chicago
18Bulls; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Darius Brown received numerous trophies and
20awards for his outstanding performance and contribution to the
21game of basketball; and

1    WHEREAS, Darius Brown is survived by his loving parents;
2his sisters, Paris and Arrius; his brother, Devin; his
3grandparents, Walter (Lillie) Brown, Mary (Andy) Ellis, and
4Patricia Williams; his aunts, Alfreda (Philip) Brown Johnson,
5Teresa (Terrence) Taylor, and Candace Williams; his uncles,
6David (Vershawn) Brown, Reuben (Toniesha) Brown, Anthony
7Brown, and Jermaine Smith; his cousins, Philip II, Courtney,
8Rhoda, Shaun, Latrice, Ronald, Miisha, Chareale', Breya', and
9Demeco; his special sister; Ebonie Hendrix; and his many other
10family members and friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
14Darius Anthony Brown; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Darius Brown as an expression of our
17sympathy.
