HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Herbert
4C. DeRue of Fox Lake, who passed on July 31, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Herbert DeRue was born on January 20, 1925, in
6Waukegan; he was the son of William and Lillian (Behnke) DeRue;
7he was a 1943 graduate of Waukegan Township High School; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Herbert DeRue volunteered for service in the
9United States Army Air Corps during World War II; he received
10the Victory Medal and the American Theater Ribbon for his
11meritorious service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Herbert DeRue was employed with Krema Trucking
13Company in his early years; he was subsequently employed at
14Chicago Title & Trust Company for 30 years and was a licensed
15real estate broker and appraiser; he was also the co-owner of
16Fisherman's Dream in Antioch; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Herbert DeRue and his wife lived in Lake Villa for
1840 years; he served as a Village Trustee in Lake Villa for four
19years; he was active as a volunteer baseball coach for Little
20League at the Prince of Peace School; he was an 80-year fan of
21the Chicago Cubs; and

1    WHEREAS, Herbert DeRue was preceded in death by his
2parents; his sisters, Lucille (Paul) Brence and Evelyn
3Rasmussen; his brothers, Elmer (Kay), Eugene (Peari), and
4William; and his son-in-law, Timothy Osmond; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Herbert DeRue is survived by his wife of 66 years,
6Dorothy (Hagerty); his children, JoAnn Osmond, David (Linda),
7Rita (Bob) Cote, Donald (Deb), Richard (Kristi), and James
8(Lin); his grandchildren, Colleen, Michael, Stephen, Brian,
9Brett, Carra, Brenna, Cale, Jenae, Kevin, Amanda, Eric,
10Stephanie, and Jack; his great-grandchildren, Emma, Grace,
11Faith, Kwame, and Zuri; his brother, Robert (Marsha); his
12sister-in-law, Monica; and his brother-in-law, Art Rasmussen;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
17Herbert C. DeRue; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Herbert DeRue as an expression of
20our sympathy.
