HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jack Wagner on the
4occasion of his departure from public service after being the
5longest serving Councilman in the Village of Palatine; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jack Wagner has proudly represented Palatine's
75th District; in addition to holding elected office, he has
8over 24 years of community and municipal service in Palatine;
9he helped start the Village of Palatine's paramedic program in
10the mid-1970s as a Palatine Board of Health member; he also
11served as a Salt Creek Park District Commissioner from 1983 to
121991 and worked to open the Twin Lakes park development; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jack Wagner played an integral role in the
14aftermath of the 1993 murders of seven workers at the Brown's
15Chicken and Pasta restaurant; he served as a liaison to the
16police department and organized a $100,000 reward fund that
17ultimately was divided between two witnesses last year after
18the second killer's conviction; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jack Wagner was a strong advocate for innovation
20and improved measures for public safety; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Jack Wagner has served as a model of hard work,

1integrity, dedication, and success for the people of the
2Village of Palatine and the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5we congratulate Jack Wagner on the occasion of his departure
6from public service and wish him many happy and healthy years
7to come; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to Jack Wagner as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
