HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act
3created EMS regions and minimum standards for the statewide
4delivery of EMS services; and
 
5    WHEREAS, There is a lack of funding for emergency medical
6services within this State; and
 
7    WHEREAS, EMS operations can mean the difference between
8life and death; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11there is created the House Task Force on Emergency Medical
12Services Funding consisting of 24 members, 12 to be appointed
13by the Speaker (one being named as co-chair by Speaker) and 12
14to be appointed by the Minority Leader (one being named as
15co-chair by Minority Leader); and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That the Task Force is created to formulate
17practical, timely, and strategic guidance on how to improve
18equipment, funding, training, manpower, cost savings, and
19communications with regard to emergency medical services
20within this State; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall meet with various
2emergency medical service stakeholders and make
3recommendations concerning ways in which emergency medical
4service functions in this State can be assisted and improved;
5and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That the Department of Public Health shall
7provide administrative support to the Task Force; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall submit its
10recommendations in a report, by January 1, 2012, to the General
11Assembly; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the Director of Public Health.
