HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to celebrate Father Jude Randall's
4("Father Jude") 50th Anniversary Jubilee as a Roman Catholic
5priest; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Father Jude was born in Downers Grove, where he
7lived at the corner of Franklin and Forest Avenues; his
8parents, Joseph and Teresa Randazzo, emigrated from Sicily,
9Italy; he has one sibling, Sr. Dorothy Randall, C.S.J., who is
10currently the president of St. Joseph School in Downers Grove;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Father Jude attended St. Procopius Academy (now
13Benet Academy) in Lisle, graduating from there in 1951; he
14professed his vows as Benedictine Monk on June 27, 1954 and
15graduated from St. Procopius College (now Benedictine
16University) with a degree in Theology in 1956; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Father Jude was ordained a Roman Catholic priest
18on May 28, 1960; he taught religion at Benet Academy from 1960
19to 1973; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Father Jude has served as president of Benet
21Academy from 1992 to the present; under his leadership, and

1those of his predecessors, Benet Academy has established itself
2as one of the top academic high schools in the State of
3Illinois; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Under Father Jude's leadership, Benet Academy has
5embarked on 3 highly successful capital campaigns for the
6Father Ronald Gymnasium, the St. Daniel Performance Hall, and
7the St. Jude Science and Activity Center; these capital
8improvements to Benet Academy have served to further enhance
9the academic, athletic, and performing arts programs for its
10students; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we join the Benet Academy family in celebration of the 50th
14Anniversary Jubilee for Father Jude Randall; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to Father Jude Randall as a symbol of our sincere
17congratulations.
