    Amends the Senior Citizens on State Boards and Commissions Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning state boards and commissions.

1    AN ACT concerning aging.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Senior Citizens on State Boards and
5Commissions Act is amended by changing Section 1 as follows:
 
6    (320 ILCS 5/1)  (from Ch. 23, par. 6151)
7    Sec. 1. It is hereby found and and determined by the
8General Assembly that state boards and commissions exist for
9the singular purpose of protecting the public health and
10welfare; that citizens over 60 years of age represent a
11significant percentage of the population and have the time and
12experience to devote to the important issues which have a
13profound effect on the daily lives of older Illinoisans.
14    It is also hereby found that senior citizens shall hold
15their positions on boards and commissions by matter of right,
16not discretion. These positions shall be held by consumer
17representatives over the age of 60 who shall serve as
18spokespersons for the interests of the State's older
19population.
